Graffiti
Graffiti creates visual blight and property damage. When graffiti is allowed to remain on property and not promptly removed, it invites additional graffiti and criminal activity. Therefore, it is extremely important that once graffiti is discovered, it must be removed immediately. If you need help in removing graffiti or need to make a report regarding graffiti removal, call the graffiti hot line at (408)866-2191.

Sewer Lines
West Valley Sanitation District maintains the sanitary systems in the City of Campbell by scheduled cleanings, repairs to damaged lines, and clearing blocked lines as needed. From each residence/building there is a sanitary sewer lateral line that carries sewage to the main line in the street. West Valley Sanitation maintains the system from the cleanout to the street. To report problems with cleanout or sewer lines contact West Valley Sanitation District during business hours 7:30 am to 4:30 pm weekdays at (408)378-2407. www.westvalleysan.org . For after hours emergencies, call County Communications at (408)299-2507.
Sidewalk Repairs
A resident may contact the City and complete a request for an inspection of a sidewalk and/or curb and gutter. The service request will be investigated and if the location meets the City’s criteria for removal and replacement, it will be placed on the sidewalk/curb and gutter repair list and considered for a future sidewalk replacement project. Generally, this is a no cost service to the resident. In order to be considered for this program, please email
, or call the Maintenance Division at (408)866-2145 between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM Monday thru Friday. The following is a brief description and procedure for repairing various sidewalk displacements:
Sidewalk Ramping - the uplift or depression is alleviated by replacing it with an asphalt ramp or patch. The location is then referred to our Engineering Division and recommended for replacement.
Sidewalk Grinding - the raised edge of the sidewalk is ground down and leveled with the adjacent sidewalk. Locations can be ground down twice before they are referred to our Engineering Division and recommended for replacement.
Asphalt Sidewalk Replacement - the severely displaced sidewalk is removed and replaced with asphalt. All sidewalks replaced with asphalt are referred to our Engineering Division and recommended for replacement.
Storm Drains
During rainy weather, sometimes storm drains can become clogged by leaves or inundated by the amount of water flowing to the drain. To prevent storm drain clogging, residents should keep the gutter area free of leaves and other debris that inhibits the water flow.
For clogged storm drains creating a significant flooding problem, please contact our Maintenance Division at (408) 866-2145 and a crew will be sent to inspect the drain. After hours, contact the Police Department non-emergency number at (408) 866-2121.
Street Signs
The Maintenance Division makes repairs to traffic signs as needed. To report a concern or problem with a traffic sign please email
or contact our Maintenance Division at (408)866-2145 between the hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday. Please provide the address or location of the sign and your name and telephone number.
Street Sweeping
Residential areas with curb and gutters are swept twice a month. Sweeping helps to remove debris that collects in the gutters and blocks storm drain inlets. Flooding of the street can occur when inlets are blocked. Sweeping also helps remove heavy metals which would otherwise wash into the drainage system and eventually into our creeks and the Bay.
Please do not rake, pile, or blow debris, leaves, or tree branches into the street or the storm drain. Place leaves and yard trimmings in the container provided by your garbage collector. This will prevent leaves and debris from clogging storm drains (which can lead to flooding and from flowing to the Bay where it contributes to water pollution).
The following is the schedule for residential street sweeping. Please help keep our waterways clean for wildlife by moving your vehicles from the street on your sweeping day.
- The area east of Winchester Boulevard between Hamilton and Camden Avenues, is swept on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.
- The area west of San Tomas Expressway between Campbell and Sunnyoaks Avenues (with a westerly boundary of Abbey Lane and Virginia Avenue); just east of Highway 17 - south of Camden Avenue; is swept on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.
- The area north of Hamilton Avenue and east of San Tomas Expressway south of Hamilton Avenue, between San Tomas Expressway and Winchester Boulevard; is swept on the 1 st and 3 rd Thursday of the month.
- The area north of Campbell Avenue and west of San Tomas Expressway, and South of Campbell Avenue in the area bounded by Kim Louise Drive, Bucknall Road and Fulton Street; is swept on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.
- All remaining portions of the San Tomas Aquino neighborhood area, generally south of San Tomas Creek to the southerly city limits; is swept on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
In addition to the regularly scheduled street sweeping schedule, the City of Campbell contracts with Green Valley to perform an extra sweep to accommodate the streets that are considered “Heavy Leaf Drop Areas”. |
