Household Hazardous Wastes
Household hazardous waste is any hazardous waste generated incidental to owning or maintaining a residence, including paints, solvents, varnishes, acids, flammables, acrylics, and resins. The most affordable and convenient way for City of Campbell residents to dispose of these wastes is to take them to either of the two local drop-off centers. The countywide Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) drop-off program is offered by the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health, and is available for all Campbell residents to dispose of HHW.

Business Generated Hazardous Waste
Business hazardous waste is any hazardous waste generated incidental to owning or maintaining a business, including paint, solvents, motor oil, fixer and developer, cleaners, and other chemicals.
If your business is a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQG) located within Santa Clara County, you may use the Santa Clara County CESQG Program for disposal of your hazardous waste. A CESQG generates less than 100 kilograms (approximately 27 gallons or 220 lbs) of hazardous waste per month, or less than one kilogram of extremely hazardous waste per month. There is a fee for businesses to use the drop-off facility based on the type and quantity of the waste. All businesses will need either a temporary or permanent EPA ID number.
All CESQG participants are asked to pre-register with the program at least one week prior to the disposal.
Fax a detailed inventory of your hazardous waste to Santa Clara County Hazardous Waste Program at (408) 280-6479. Send the fax, "Attention: HHW-CESQG Program" on your business letterhead.
Include the following information: type of waste, container size, quantity of waste, and hazard class.
For more information about pre-registering (residents and businesses) for hazardous waste drop-off, please call the Santa Clara County Hazardous Waste Program at (408) 299-7300, or visit their website.
